Our beliefs form the foundation, the core of who we are. By : Hani AlqasemThey form the thoughts we think, what we say and how we behave and act. What we believe within ourselves we then create outside of ourselves. It has been said that our inner world creates our outer world. If we have beliefs that support us, that are aligned with our desires or dreams, then we will more than likely achieve what we want almost effortlessly. On the other hand, if we have beliefs that do not support us, that are in conflict with our goals and dream, when we have limiting beliefs, we then limit and sabotage our likelihood of success. We limit our chances of attaining what we can have or achieve. For you to live your life the way you want to you will have to identify those subconscious beliefs that limit you and then change them into subconscious beliefs that support you. Most of us are used to living our daily lives in a certain way, by habit or default, and yet we are not happy with what we get and we do not know why we do not get the things that we want. The solution is to step out to get what you want. Why not step out and identify your current subconscious limiting beliefs in a certain area and challenge them; change them all one by one. Challenge all of your automatic negative thoughts and beliefs. Let us use coffee as an example; what would happen if you did not have that morning coffee? What would happen if you wake up tomorrow morning and instead of rushing for that cup of strong coffee you changed pace and went for a large glass of fruit juice? How do you think that may affect your day? Would you have the jitters, the shakes? Would you be saying: "Oh my God. I need that coffee to function. I must have my morning coffee! I just cannot do without it." What has happened here is you have made it your habit, your belief that you need that morning coffee to start your day off on the right track; energised by caffeine. You made it a habit to have your morning coffee. You think you need it. You believe you need it to wake you up. For you to live your life on your own terms, you have to start off by changing your routine, your habits, and you will need to change your subconscious limiting beliefs around coffee. In fact, you do not really need that coffee to turbo-charge your day. You think you do and so you turned that thought into a belief. By changing your beliefs, the things you believe, you can actually change your reality. Spend some time looking your subconscious beliefs and ask yourself these two questions: "Why do I believe this belief?" Then ask: "Does this belief support me in getting the things I want in my life?" If the belief does not support you it is then sabotaging you. So now you have the opportunity to change the automatic negative thoughts. Start off by overcoming negative thinking. This is a strong process that changes beliefs from being limiting sabotaging beliefs to beliefs that are self-enhancing and supporting. |
